At the Aranybástya we work with the highest quality, premium ingredients, both in food and drinks. Our excellent suppliers always ensure the highest quality products to provide an exceptional experience for all our guests.
Coffee
We use two types of coffee, provided by Pasco in Turkish Balaton, one of Hungary's leading coffee companies. They roast and distribute coffee and prepare many baristas for national and world competitions, which is why we trust them when it comes to coffee and roasting.
Our 'blend'
A special 'blend' is our basic coffee, a speciality coffee, large-bodied and complex (acidic, bitter and sweet at the same time), made especially for us and only available at our place: most of it is Brazilian (arabica) coffee, with Indian (robusta) and Ethiopian (arabica) coffee. The acidity comes from the citrus, the sweetness from the peanuts and the bitterness from the dark chocolate aftertaste. This brings it all into balance. Creamy texture with a rich cream. Roasting takes place in Hungary, ensuring that we always brew our guests' black coffee from freshly roasted coffee.
Single Original Speciality Coffee
Our other coffee is 'Single Original Specialty Coffee', which is a 100% Ethiopian Arabica coffee. It is made with natural processing. This type must be indicated separately to the server if we want to order the coffee from it. Thinner, medium-bodied coffee dominated by citruses: from time to time, other citrus can be felt in it (grapefruit, mandarin).
23 carat gold cappuccino
It is considered a real gastronomic curiosity in our country, for which we use our own 'blend'.
The high-quality cappuccino is served in an elegant Hollóházi porcelain set, topped with 23-carat gold smoke foil. The set includes a porcelain tray on which, as a coaster, there is a little reading material about the origin and beneficial effects of gold consumption, in Hungarian and English.
Also as part of the set, next to the coffee, there is a "petit four" dessert, which is also the signature dessert of Aranybástya. Our coffee goes especially well with the chocolate dessert, bringing out its very special flavor notes. This dessert is covered in a glass dome and enveloped in citrus smoke. We take off the veil in front of the guest, thereby enhancing the guest experience for visitors. This coffee-chocolate-citrus taste magic can be the perfect end to a lunch/dinner, but it is an outstanding experience in itself.
Raw materials
We try to source the ingredients for the menu from Hungarian suppliers, with a special focus on the Hungarikum menu: we work with ingredients that are considered Hungarikum: onions from Makó, grey beef, Szeged paprika, chamomile from the lowlands, sausage from Csaba, roses from Szőregi. We try to convey and present the iconic ingredients of Hungarian gastronomy through our dishes.
Fruit and vegetables are also sourced from Hungarian suppliers, preferably from Hungarian producers, as far as their availability, quality and seasonality allow. We work only with the best quality primary produce available
Drinks
Our drinks list is also exclusively premium: from handmade tequila in painted porcelain, Clase Azul Reposado, to the Cape Saint Blaze Floristic Gin, a South African gin that employs local people. But we also have Winston Churchill's favourite brandy, Ararat.
We have a large selection of gins, with a focus on premium Hungarian craft gins that have achieved outstanding results internationally: Opera, Zsolnay, Agárdi Chameleon, Historia, Terminus, Seven Hills Tokaj.

We have 120 types of wine at national and international level, but we also specifically try to present the widest possible portfolio of our 22 wine regions, Hungarian grape varieties and smaller wineries.

The welcome drink is the 'Four Fogat', a brandy cocktail (the brandy is also Hungarikum certified): brandy, Törley champagne, Hungarian acacia honey and lowland chamomile inflorescences. The main dish can be paired with either Ménes- Balla Géza Kolna Kadarká (2022) or Sumpf Pincészet Nagy- Egyed Grand Superior Bikavér (2018). The dessert is paired with Zwack Unicum Riserva.
Philipponnat Ambassador House on the Aranybástya
"La Champagne au cœur", meaning 'Champagne in our hearts'! That's the motto of the house of Philipponnat and in their case it's much more than just a catchy marketing message. The Philipponnat family have been living and growing grapes in the heart of the Champagne region, between Ay and Mareuil-sur-Ay, for nearly 500 years.
A high percentage of grapes from the estate are used to make sparkling wine. We have the basic Champagne, the medium and Prestige, but also the Clos Des Goisses vineyard selection. Each year we receive different lots from the winery which are only available from us in limited quantities.
