The Igloos

In Buda Castle, the experience of grand bourgeois hospitality continues throughout the winter months in two smaller temperature-controlled igloos on the Panorama Terrace and one larger igloo in the Hanging Garden. These spaces provide a comfortable retreat, allowing the panorama of Budapest to be enjoyed uninterrupted during the colder season.

The Location

A winter panorama above Budapest

Special occasions are not bound by the seasons, and there is no need to forego the view in the colder months. From the terrace of Aranybástya, the sight of the Parliament and the city lights remains undisturbed in winter, whether gathering for a sunny lunch or an intimate evening dinner.

Igloos on the Panorama Terrace

The two smaller igloos situated on the terrace also serve as a venue for à la carte lunches and dinners with a table reservation. These spaces can be booked for private events either separately or together, accommodating up to 24 guests per igloo.

Large igloo in the Hanging Garden

The large igloo placed in the Hanging Garden provides a comfortable space for groups of up to 40 guests. Booking this venue is specifically tailored to larger events, with the price available on request in every case.

Private events in Buda Castle

For corporate events, business meetings, birthdays or family gatherings, a private atmosphere, refined gastronomy and the panorama all come together in a single location. These separate spaces provide a calm and elegant backdrop for a private lunch or dinner.

Available time slots

The capacity remains the same across all three time slots, and the booked period is reserved entirely for the party.

12:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.

Exclusive Lunch

The private lunch begins with a glass of Kreinbacher Classic Brut sparkling wine, and from December, festive Advent decorations adorn the space.

3:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.

Afternoon gatherings also commence with a glass of Kreinbacher Classic Brut sparkling wine, and from December, Advent decorations welcome arriving guests.

6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

Private dinner

At the beginning of the evening private dinner, a glass of Hungarian sparkling wine awaits the assembled party.

When booking the terrace igloos, the minimum spend is 650,000 HUF net per igloo, while booking both terrace igloos together requires a minimum spend of 1,200,000 HUF net across all three time slots. This minimum spend is fully redeemable on food and drink, and the pricing for the large igloo in the Hanging Garden is available on request. Extensions are available until 23:00 at 60,000 HUF per hour, and subsequently at 150,000 HUF per hour. December bookings can be finalised no earlier than three weeks before the event. The igloos are temperature-controlled; however, the inside temperature varies with the weather outside.
