Győző Byhon and Andrea Gulyás, a painter-married couple from Szentendre. Byhon Győző uses a wide variety of materials for his unique creations. For his works captured from the top view, he also uses drone photos he took, as well as Google Earth. His attraction to the subject is no accident, as he obtained a geography teacher's degree at the time out of pure interest. As a child, he collected maps for their aesthetics and has always been interested in geology. He became interested in top-view representation after seeing an orthophoto, that is, an aerial photograph, in a newspaper: orthophotos are also called photomaps, as they combine the properties of photographs and maps in one object. This artistic way of seeing, developed with great care, becomes even more special as soon as the picture is on the wall, because the world - one might say again - turns 90 degrees, so the viewer can soar with the work during the reception.
In Andrea Gulyás's pictures, there are planar elements placed with geometric precision, but at the same time, the compositions also record the impressions of the moment. The silhouette of a typical city or location has remained unchanged for centuries in the background of the images, but in the foreground, modern devices fly, for example, airplanes, airships or hang gliders. These are radical abstractions, yet we are witnessing sensitive works, and this worldview can connect with ours both in an abstract and literal sense.
