The artist couple, Réka Schnedarek and Botond Lakatos, will present their joint exhibition, entitledInterior Gardens, at the Golden Bastion Restaurant, which will be on show until the end of the summer. The artists share not only their private lives, but also their profession, creating a special harmony with their works on the walls of the restaurant.The artists graduated from the Hungarian University of Fine Arts with a degree in painting. Both of them have a very special vision. Her favourite subjects include places that are dear to her, such as the garden and the world of the home. In her words, "it is a time of happy release" for her. Botond has developed his distinctive pictorial world, recognisable among hundreds, in recent years. As one of Hungary's most talented comic book artists, he thinks in terms of series in his painting. He embeds the ornamental motifs of the old ages in a contemporary framework with his vivid colours and dynamic brushwork. To quote Botond: "the path led by the ornaments is like the labyrinths of old gardens, which are enriched by symbols, allusions and puzzles. "Réka Schnedarek and Botond Lakatos' works reinforce each other by juxtaposing them: a sensitive relationship between their works, in which the patterns do not appear above and below, but merge.
