On January 22, Hungarian Culture Day, we welcome our guests to a special dinner at the Aranybástya, where contemporary painting and live music come together.
The concept of the program is based on the meeting of different art forms: the atmosphere of the dinner will be set by jazz pianist Lóránt Péch, and the highlight of the evening will be a conversation between Blanka Bán and Bolda Szmrecsányi, offering insight into the world of the painter's works. This is a special occasion, as the theme literally surrounds us: the works discussed are currently decorating the walls of the restaurant, allowing guests to experience the visual and intellectual experience up close.

Bolda Szmrecsányi (Painter and Graphic Artist) One of the evening's main protagonists is Bolda Szmrecsányi. Nature has always been close to her heart, and this theme remains the focus of the works presented in this exhibition. Her unique, light-imbued creations reveal bold experimentation. The organizing element of her pictures is radiance, symbolizing life and hope, while simultaneously emphasizing shadow and contrast. Her paintings encourage the viewer to—much like the artist—experiment with their own impressions to find their personal interpretation.
Lóránt Péch (Jazz Pianist) The musical experience is provided by Lóránt Péch. The pianist and composer graduated in 2025 from the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music, majoring in Jazz Composition. In his playing, he blends the traditional sound of jazz with a modern approach, sensitive improvisation, and a rich harmonic world. With his own band, the Péch Lóránt Quartet, he is an active figure in the domestic jazz scene, and his work indicates a career that is shaping up on an international level as well.
Participation in the event is free of charge, but due to the capacity of our restaurant, table reservation is required.
Please book your table for the 18:00 – 19:00 time slot. This ensures you can settle in comfortably by the time the program starts, and enjoy the evening over a pleasant dinner.
Regardless of the exhibition, we are waiting for you during opening hours with our reimagined and traditional dishes!
