Library Room in Buda Castle: a private room with a fireplace and a panoramic view

A new private room in the Buda Castle: the Library Room, 140 m², featuring a fireplace, bookshelves, and a panoramic view of Budapest. For business and private events.

There are spaces that naturally contribute to the atmosphere of the event. Aranybástya private room, the Library Room, is one such space: located on the third floor of the Lónyay-Hatvany , it features a fireplace, elegant wood paneling, and bookshelves that reach all the way to the ceiling, with a panoramic view of Budapest stretching from the Parliament Building across the Chain Bridge to the Basilica visible through the windows. In this article, we’ll show you what it’s for, who it’s for, and how large a group it can accommodate.

What is the space like?

140 square meters in the spirit of classic upper-class salons: books, wood, a fireplace, and the kind of tranquility that the third floor of the Castle District offers. The Library Room is not a set, but an environment: sitting down here is, by its very nature, different from sitting in an ordinary meeting room.

How large of an event can it handle?

  • Standing reception: 50 people
  • Seated, with round tables: 30 people
  • At a long table: 24 people

This is the kind of setting where an executive dinner, a board meeting, a private wine dinner, or an intimate family celebration can still be a genuine conversation—not an event requiring microphones.

Separate entrance, complete privacy

The Library Room can be accessed via a separate entrance off Hunyadi János út, meaning your guests can arrive independently of the restaurant. For business events and private receptions, this is no minor detail: the space is all yours, from start to finish.

What does it go best with?

  • Dinners for executives and board members, business meetings
  • Private receptions, press and partner events
  • Wine Dinners, Tastings
  • Intimate family celebrations, milestone anniversaries

The cuisine is the same upper-middle-class cuisine rooted in Hungarian traditions that you’ve come to expect at the restaurant; we’ll tailor the details to suit the nature of the event.

How can you view or reserve it?

Details about the Library Hall and the request for a quote are available on our event venues page, or you can email us directly at events@aranybastya.com. If you’d like to see it in person first, we’ll schedule a time—the panoramic view is more convincing than any photo anyway.
